Johannes Ludwig Camradt
(Copenhagen 1779–1849 Hillerod) Still-life of flowers, signed on the reverse on the original canvas, oil on canvas, 63 x 53 cm, framed
As the son of the portrait painter, Jörgen Frederick Camradt, the artist received his training from his father before attending the Academy in Copenhagen, which received him as a member in 1816. From 1810 he specialised in flower paintings, much sought-after throughout Europe. His works are to be found in many important museums. His works radiate a fresh unmannered realism.
